ABOUT THE ROLE . . .
Perform periodic electronics maintenance activities. This position will be highly involved in troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, programming and the installation of a variety of electronic equipment.
Principal Accountabilities
- Will perform a variety of electronic activities in association with the Controls Engineer.
- Program and troubleshoot Siemen PLC’s and related devices to include Operator interfaces.
- Diagnose electronic malfunctions.
- Repair, maintain & troubleshoot, for example, high voltage systems, VFD motor controllers, SCADA systems, analog and digital circuitry, various electronic controls, Spectrometer and HVAC controllers.
- Maintain Ethernet & Profibus communication components, Wonderware software, and other computer related equipment.
- Analyze and prioritize daily requests ensuring effective completion of projects.
- Act as a liaison with various equipment manufacturers or other outside sources to resolve operational problems.
- Provide guidance for electrical design of project components and supervise installation of project items and recommend engineering changes to correct and improve the operating capabilities of the plant.
- Implement maintenance work programs reducing equipment failures and non-productive downtime.
- Resolve issues involving the electronic networking of mechanical equipment.
- Maintain accurate equipment history files, downtime records, preventive maintenance time schedules.
- Maintain and adhere to ISO standards, including but not limited to the Quality Policy Statement as well as the Quality Control Procedures Manual.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and a minimum of 3 years of related experience.
- Must be able and willing to remain fully competent with the changes in the Electronic Controls field.
- Must be knowledgeable of Oscilloscopes, AC-DC power supplies, Millivolt source, multimeters, ammeters, wattmeters and meggers.
- Must be experienced with Ethernet and Profibus communication components as well as SCADA systems and be capable to learn wonderware software.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and assess the condition of equipment for mechanical and/or electrical repair and maintenance.
- Must be willing to work off-shift, on occasion, as well as day shift.
