Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Engineer II for a contract basis and a client located in Syracuse, NY (Hybrid).
Pay Rate: 55-60/HR on W2 The pay rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer II
LOCATION DETAILS: Syracuse, NY (Hybrid)
Type: 12+ contract
Primarily responsible for engineering design, implementation, integration, and troubleshooting support for telecommunications and data network systems involving electric transmission, distribution, sub-transmission, metering and other technologies. Job duties will include evaluation of emerging technologies; participation in equipment specification and selection; and performing end-to-end solution design including validation and testing of advanced communications systems.
You will work closely with our Substation Engineering, Protection Engineering, Distribution Control & Instrumentation Engineering, Meter Engineering, and other departments to provide communications solutions for projects assigned to those groups. In addition, you will be responsible for the development of long-term strategies for telecom networks supporting substations, distribution system controls, meters and other fixed and mobile devices.
• Expertise in some or all of the following communications technologies:
o RF Data Communication Systems including point to point, point to multipoint and mesh topologies.
o Private and Public LTE networks
o Fiber Optic and Microwave Transport Systems
o Leased wired and wireless services
o Computer Network Routing/Switching, Cloud Services
o AMI Field Networks
