Precision Fluorocarbon Inc (PFI) located in Tomball, Texas is an industry leader in custom plastics manufacturing. We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Quality Control Inspector to join our team. No phone calls or recruiters please.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Quality inspector Inspects parts and materials to assure established standards of quality are maintained. Ensures the quality of workmanship and compliance with specifications on various piece parts and assemblies by making dimensional and mechanical inspections.
• Plans and carries out projects, selecting approaches and methods used in solving problems.
• Conducts preliminary inspections/receiving for compliance with specifications using blue-prints, drawings and prior knowledge of engineering methods to evaluate if deficiencies are present in systems, structures, assemblies or parts.
• Conducts in process and final inspections at various check points to eliminate hold-ups, rework, and ensure specification conformance of critical dimensions.
• Interprets technical specifications, directives, and relevant publications to identify discrepancies and deficiencies. Assembles pertinent information and materials necessary to effectively accomplish planning, scheduling, inspection, and reports.
• Conducts audits, submitting reports and recommendations.
• Operates CMM
• Adheres to all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Accurately documents time worked by clocking in and out of payroll time clock
• Correctly documents all job activity and transactions in Quality system
• Adheres to ISO inspection processes
• Other duties as assigned by manager
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum education requirements - verifiable high School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution required
Trade or Technical Certification or higher desired
• 3- 5 years’ experience working in a similar role in a like environment required
• Must possess knowledge of inspection methods and instruments.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of sampling plans and statistics.
• Working knowledge of assembly processes and procedures and manufacturing theory and principles.
• Working knowledge of statistical process control theory, principles, and applications.
• Computer literacy, including familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet applications software.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, diagrams, engineering specifications, manuals and operating instructions, as required for proper performance of job functions.
• Ability to do FPQ’s, CAV’s, PPAP’s and layout Inspection forms as well as determine proper tools for measuring part
PREFERRED SKILLS
• ASQ certified is a plus
• . Ability to operate CMM, OGP, and Faro is desired
