Our client is a reputable Commerical General Contractor with a diverse portfolio of commercial/design-build projects actively seeking an experienced construction Estimator to join their team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates including experience with conceptual estimating for both negotiated and hard bids. Experience including, but not limited to, earthwork, concrete commercial buildings. This person will prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information from construction plans and specifications.
Select Responsibilities | Not Limited too the Following:
- Responsible for conceptual, schematic, design development estimates, GMPs, lump sum bidding, and bid package assembly.
- Perform quantity takeoffs
- Attend prebid meetings, site visits and bid turn ins
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering specs, plans and proposals. Review and verify scope of work
- Prepare and complete cost estimates in HeavyBid
- Prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade specific clarifications and comprehensive bid packages.
- Solicit quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, qualify proposals
- Develop and maintain subcontractor/supplier list
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years’ experience as commercial construction estimator
- Experience with civil site development (earthwork, underground wet/dry utilities and flatwork)
- Ability to read plans and specifications
- Experience with HeavyBid or similar software
- Proficient with Microsoft Office & take off software
