Job Title: Mechanical Product Engineer

Job Description:
As a Mechanical Product Engineer, you will be responsible for executing engineering tasks, overseeing projects, and contributing to the development of innovative solutions. This role involves creating SolidWorks solid models, assembly models, and detailed drawings, as well as performing Finite Element Analyses, mechanism simulations, and stress analysis. You will collaborate closely with the Project Management Team, ensuring strict compliance with company policies, quality standards, and ethical business practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop SolidWorks solid models, assembly models, and detailed drawings.
- Conduct Finite Element Analyses, mechanism simulations, linear stress analysis, and transient thermal analysis.
- Define product requirements and design improvements.
- Devise novel mechanisms to meet the requirements for new product offerings.
- Perform design layouts to validate designs before prototype creation.
- Lead testing exercises to validate new product designs and improvements.
- Collaborate with the machine shop to create prototypes of new components.
- Work with support staff (draftsmen and technicians) to complete project activities.
- Provide flexible resources to aid in the process engineering aspect of product development.
- Problem-solve in an organized manner, document findings, and facilitate teamwork within the product team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Product Development role, with expertise in establishing product designs considering manufacturing processes to achieve consistent quality and cost objectives.
- Experience in creating and implementing engineering prototypes for testing.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software or other major solid modeling software.
- Strong communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Experience in the Firearms industry is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and travel as required to support development activities.
Language Skills:
- Proficiency in English, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Training Requirements:
- Complete all necessary training as mandated by the assigned department and position.
- Participate in company initiatives and continuous improvement projects (Kaizen events, 5S, etc.).
Physical Demands:
- Continuous: Sitting.
- Occasional: Walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, fine and gross upper body motor movements.

Personal Protective Equipment:
- Safety glasses with side shields are required on the factory floor.
- Additional PPE may be necessary based on job tasks, including safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.

Work Environment:
- Normal office environment conditions.
- Within the manufacturing facility, exposure to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting may occur.
- Similar to most manufacturing operations, employees may be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with moving machinery, work in confined spaces, vibrations, and shop lighting.
