The Quality Manager at System Seals will lead the Quality Assurance team, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This role involves overseeing all aspects of quality management, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), audits, supplier quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements, manage customer quality concerns, and maintain our certifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Team Management:
· Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Assurance team, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
· Manage the daily activities of the quality team, including performance management and professional development.
· Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.
Quality Management System (QMS):
· Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO and IATF standards and other relevant certifications.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP):
· Lead APQP initiatives to ensure new products are developed with quality in mind from concept to production.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain control plans, process flow diagrams, and FMEAs.
Supplier Quality Management:
· Develop and manage supplier quality processes, including supplier audits, assessments, and performance monitoring.
· Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive improvements.
Customer Quality Concerns:
· Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and complaints.
· Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve customer issues and prevent recurrence.
Audits & Compliance:
· Plan and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with QMS and other regulatory requirements.
· Prepare for and manage external audits by customers, regulatory bodies, and certification agencies.
Continuous Improvement:
· Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
· Utilize Six Sigma, Lean, and other quality improvement methodologies to drive continuous improvement.
Reporting & Documentation:
· Generate and present regular quality reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and areas for improvement.
· Maintain accurate records of quality activities, including audit results, corrective actions, and improvement projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
· Min. 7 years of experience in quality management, preferably within industrial, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
· ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification.
· Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949
· Extensive experience in problem-solving techniques, including 8D, 5Y's, and fishbone diagrams.
· Proven track record of leading successful quality improvement initiatives.
· Expertise in root cause analysis.
· Strong knowledge of AIAG core tools.
· Proficiency in statistical methods, including MSA, DOE, SPC, and hypothesis analysis.
· Proven experience with quality inspection, including use of precision measuring instruments/testing equipment.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills.
· Strong documentation, reporting, and analytical skills.
· Proficiency in quality management and statistical software and Microsoft Office Suite.
· Certifications from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM) and Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or related certifications are preferred.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, chemicals, and machinery.
