We are looking for a Technical M&A Mid-Level Project Manager who will help build out & develop best in class work and work on innovative projects for the business.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mid-Level M&A Project Manager to oversee and manage the lifecycle of mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management with specialized experience in M&A. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external advisors to ensure the successful integration of acquired businesses and the seamless execution of divestitures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution: Lead and manage M&A project plans, timelines, and resources from inception through completion.
- Due Diligence: Coordinate and oversee due diligence processes, including gathering and analyzing data, identifying risks, and facilitating communication between internal teams and external advisors.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with various stakeholders including legal, finance, HR, IT, and operations to ensure all project objectives and milestones are met.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with each M&A project. Develop contingency plans as needed.
- Integration Planning: Assist in post-merger integration efforts, ensuring that all functional areas align with the overall strategic objectives.
- Financial Analysis Support: Provide assistance in financial modeling, valuation, and assessment of deal structure implications.
- Reporting & Communication: Prepare and present regular status updates, reports, and communication plans to senior management and stakeholders.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all project documentation is maintained and that all activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years focused on M&A activities.
- Project Management Expertise: Proven track record in managing cross-functional projects and teams, with a deep understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- M&A Knowledge: Familiarity with the M&A lifecycle, including due diligence, integration, and divestiture processes.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a proactive and adaptable approach.
- Attention to Detail: Highly organized with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
- Certifications: PMP, CAPM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
