For more than 26 years, we have provided on-site educational services in hospitals, helping these school-age patients continue their education during treatment and reintegrate successfully into the classroom. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and creative teacher to join our team in Palmetto Bay, FL on a part-time basis for the school year. This unique position will involve working in residential eating disorder facility, providing academic support to adolescent school-age patients in a small classroom setting as they receive treatment. In this role, you will have the opportunity to plan and deliver daily lesson plans, provide individualized assistance to students, and regularly communicate about student progress as needed. Additionally, you will monitor and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success and maintain accurate attendance and session reports. Most of our class sizes range from 8 to 15 school-age patients at any one time.
Position entails a year round, 20-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday, 8am-12pm (or 7:30am-11:30am, depending on candidate preference). Qualifications:
- B.A/B.S. degree from an accredited institution
- Active Florida teaching license
- Comfortable working with 7th -12th grade students
- Ability to assist with the upper level Math and Science
- Strong organizational skills
- Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs
- Reliable Transportation
