QC Supervisor
Type of Work: Onsite
Location: Deerfield Beach, FL
Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday
Type of Contract: Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: $18 - $20 per hour
Description:
- Review Quality Standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions.
- Anticipate workload and lead the quality team daily. Adapt to changes in demand and workload in functional areas.
- Ensure AQLs for FG and PFLs are compliant with customer SOPs/AQL methodologies and available upon request.
- Coach QC staff on interpreting QA measurements, tolerances, limits, and defect classification.
- Train QC staff on QC equipment, SOPs/Methods, and IT systems (Calipers, Jacomex, Force gauges, torque meters, Oracle).
- Regularly report metrics, follow up on action plans, and disseminate information to all relevant parties.
- Oversee production lines' adherence to the traffic light system and proper use of quality inspection checklists.
- Document and address non-conformances, working with production, warehouse, QC bulk, and TPD to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure timely recording and communication of investigations.
- Implement and carry out corrective actions and preventive actions in the QC department.
- Review and plan production schedules with QC and production teams for the following week to set priorities and anticipate potential issues.
- Ensure timely disposition of rejected FG and PFL.
- Update FG status within 24 hours.
- Follow customer Quality Questionnaire procedures and ensure timely sending of pre-ship samples.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Knowledge:
- Education: High School Diploma with 5 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Certification: Relevant certifications in the field.
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years in the manufacturing industry (Cosmetics or Food) with a Bachelor’s Degree, or
- Minimum of 5 years in the manufacturing industry (Cosmetics or Food) with a High School Diploma.
- Experience in planning and accomplishing goals based on judgment.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
