The Estimator plays a critical role in analyzing project costs and preparing accurate estimates for various construction projects. The successful candidate will gather and analyze data to produce detailed cost estimates, support project planning, and contribute to budgeting and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in industrial construction, including areas such as welding, industrial piping, civil, concrete, and railroad construction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Cost Estimates: Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects.
- Review Project Documents: Examine project plans and specifications to identify potential cost impacts and discrepancies.
- Coordinate with Teams: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive cost analysis.
- Track and Update Costs: Monitor project expenses and update cost tracking systems to reflect current financial status.
- Solicit and Evaluate Bids: Obtain and review subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
- Prepare Reports: Generate cost reports and estimates for management review and project planning.
- Assess Scope Changes: Evaluate changes in project scope and their impact on cost and timelines.
- Support Budgeting: Assist in developing and managing project budgets to ensure financial efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5 Years of Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the industrial construction sector.
- Relevant Industry Experience: Extensive knowledge in industrial construction, including welding, industrial piping, civil, concrete, and railroad construction.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex project data and produce accurate cost estimates.
Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present cost information and recommendations
