As the Manager of Engineering and Facilities you will serve as the “go-to” for all things mechanical within our Distribution Center. From maintaining all equipment and ensuring minimal downtime, to developing a staff of mechanics and electricians.
Within the scope of this role is building maintenance, repair and building services; performing corrective, predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to material handling equipment, controls systems, employee scanning equipment, conveyor systems, rack and order picking structures; and building and grounds maintenance, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing.
Responsibilities:
- Assuming direct reporting responsibility for all Maintenance Mechanics as well as indirect responsibility for non-exempt maintenance employees
- Managing preventive maintenance programs and ensuring schedules are adhered to in order to minimize downtime
- Providing technical expertise in the areas of sortation, electrical and mechanical systems
- Completing quality audits of mechanic work tasks and communicate results
- Obtaining and reviewing contractor bids for repairs and facility projects and coordinating projects to fit the business needs and parameters, while ensuring contractor adherence to quality, scheduling and budgetary guideline standards.
- Managing/overseeing the repair and maintenance of equipment, assigning work orders, and ensuring safety and production related work orders are highest priority
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required
- Work rotational, 24/7 on-call to support the operation at all hours
- Work a flexible, full-time schedule, to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
Must-haves:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required
- Conveyor belt experience
- Experience working in warehouse and distribution centers
- Proven leadership ability
- Preventative maintenance/reliability background
