Role: Senior Enterprise Architect

Position Summary:
The Senior Enterprise Architect is responsible for leading the development of strategies for non-functional requirements (NFRs) and cross-domain capabilities across a hybrid landscape of cloud and on-premises infrastructure for a large auto financial institution. This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments to ensure the architecture aligns with business needs and NFRs.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Architecture Strategy:
• Develop strategies for NFRs and cross-domain capabilities across the entire landscape.
• Ensure architecture aligns with North Star architecture principles, business needs and NFRs, incorporating security, performance, and scalability.
• Lead the development of enterprise architecture roadmaps, patterns and blueprints.
• Collaborate with Global Architecture Council to ensure approval and alignment with organizational standards.
Architecture Design:
• Develop and design scalable, secure, and resilient reference architectures using industry best practices and the cloud Well-Architected Framework.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of cloud services and solutions.
• Design disaster recovery and backup solutions to ensure business continuity.
• Develop patterns and solutions for common problems such as observability, and availability across the organization.
• Ensure implementation patterns follow InfoSec policies and best practices.
Technical Leadership:
• Serve as the technical expert in enterprise and cloud architecture, providing guidance and mentoring to junior staff and cross-functional teams.
• Stay current with emerging trends and technologies to drive innovation.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are optimized for deployment across hybrid cloud environments.
Security and Compliance:
• Ensure solutions adhere to security best practices and comply with relevant regulations and standards.
• Implement identity and access management controls to protect data and resources.
Cost Management:
• Monitor and optimize costs, implementing strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Provide recommendations for cost allocation and chargeback models.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with business leaders to understand strategic goals and ensure solutions support those objectives.
• Communicate strategies and roadmaps to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to create adoption of the designed patterns across the organization
Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
• 15+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in enterprise and cloud architecture and design.
• Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Full understanding of AWS and Azure Well-Architected Framework.
• Ability to use architecture diagramming tools, and frameworks such as Sparkx EA, Archimate, C4, UML to communicate architecture patterns.
Certifications:
• Relevant enterprise Architecture certification such as Togaf is nice to have
• Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are highly desirable.
Skills:
• Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, and storage concepts.
• Nice to have: Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices.
Interview Process:
The interview will be a problem-solving based interview with white boarding to ensure the candidate has the required architecture and communication skills
