Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams and vision tests for patients of all ages
- Diagnose and treat various eye conditions and diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, or other vision aids as needed
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Educate patients on proper eye care techniques and preventive measures
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic medical record systems (Epic)
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry and attend continuing education courses
Requirements:
- Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited optometry school
- Valid state optometry license
- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and pathology
- Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye exams and diagnosing eye conditions
- Experience with medical coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems (Epic) is preferred but not required
