In order to build upon the continued success and rapid growth of their utility-scale solar operations, our client is looking to fill key Senior Project Manager vacancies across the United States, including in the Houston Area!
The ideal candidate will be responsible for upholding high safety standards, overseeing project timelines and budgets, collaborating effectively with internal multidisciplinary teams, and cultivating strong relationships with clients and other key stakeholders across simultaneous project sites.
Responsibilities
- Develops, applies and empowers the project safety program, fostering a safe work environment culture.
- Conducts site tours and safety inspections, leading by example to ensure that all safety standards, policies, procedures and environmental programs are fully adhered to.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure projects are executed in accordance with contractual agreements.
- Develops and oversees the Project Execution Plan with the Superintendents.
- Oversees and manages the design deliverable timeline to support and assist with permits, procurement, shop drawings, off-site production, construction, and commissioning, ensuring alignment with client reviews and approvals.
- Review designs and collaborate with the design team to address compliance issues, manage scope changes, optimize costs, ensure adherence to code requirements, oversee procurement processes, and prioritize safety in design, construction sequencing, and constructability.
- Responsible for tracking and evaluating project performance through status reports that cover schedule adherence, cost management, equipment usage, labor resources, material procurement, safety and environmental standards, cost forecasting, and quality assurance.
- Reviews and performs comprehensive weekly or monthly project cost evaluations, including labor cost reports and project cost and forecast reports.
- Identifies risk areas and develops mitigation plans.
- Understand and effectively manage client expectations, project-specific success criteria, contracts, and relationships.
- Oversees relationships with project teams, client representatives, consultants, and trade contractors.
- Responsible for evaluation of subcontractor submissions to verify alignment with project scope, design specifications, and integration with other disciplines.
- Leads and guides the project team by supervising, directing, coaching, training, and mentoring both direct and indirect reports, as well as project coordinators and managers across one or more sites.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or architecture is preferred, or equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Preferred candidate will have over 15 years of progressive experience in construction, including leadership and mentorship roles across various contract delivery types.
- 5 years of utility-scale solar experience preferred.
- 12 months of estimating or related experience preferred.
