Job Overview
We are seeking skilled OSP Design Engineers to join a leading telecommunications organization based in Irving, Texas. As part of a major expansion, this role will involve designing and planning outside plant (OSP) networks, including both greenfield and brownfield projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new center of excellence dedicated to creating innovative and effective network designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Planning: Develop comprehensive designs for outside plant networks, including fiber optic systems. Create detailed network plans and drawings to guide the installation of new infrastructure in various locations.
- Network Integration: Collaborate on integrating new networks into existing environments, ensuring seamless connectivity from consumer endpoints to business systems.
- GIS and CAD Utilization: Use GIS (Geospatial Information Systems) and CAD software (AutoCAD) to produce accurate and detailed network design drawings.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow industry rules and regulations regarding fiber optic installations and ensure all designs comply with technical and safety standards.
- Training and Development: Participate in extensive training programs to stay updated on fiber technology and industry best practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are implemented correctly and efficiently.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in OSP design, including proficiency with CAD and GIS tools. Experience with fiber optic networks is highly desirable.

Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Strong understanding of fiber optic technology and network design principles.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications in fiber optics or network design are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience as an OSP Design/Permit Engineer or Fiber Engineer.
- Familiarity with network planning and deployment processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain network infrastructure.
