Role Description
We are seeking a full-time on-site role for a Commercial Glazing Project Manager in Long Beach, CA. The Project Manager will oversee commercial glazing projects, manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, and ensure quality and safety standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
· Establish and maintain professional and effective relations with contractors/clients, especially regarding communication.
· Responsible for creating, reviewing, implementing and tracking change orders.
· Initiate and follow the shop drawing and submittal process from A to Z.
· Maintain organized and seamless material procurement for all projects while meeting budget requirements.
· Monitors activities to ensure compliance with any government regulations that may apply
· Manage document control in a systematic and traceable manner (RFIs, submittals, product data, punch list, and close out)
· Responds to problems in a timely manner while ensuring effective, solution-oriented service
· Provide information to the field as required
· Prepares project reports for management, client, or others
· Reviews project specifications to ensure adherence of proposed systems and concurrence with drawings as well as elements that can create issues for the glazing trade.
· Inputs all related costs into job spreadsheets, assesses required contract schedule and prepares client proposal that is complete, relevant, and responsive
· Create a baseline project schedule. Manage, update and re-format as job progresses.
· Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
· Create relationships with suppliers and clients
- · Initiate team meetings with production to verify materials and labor estimates are correct
Qualifications:
· Minimum of 6 years’ experience with industry specific materials and practices.
· Minimum of 6 years’ experience with construction project management.
· Thorough knowledge of current storefront and curtain wall systems, glass and aluminum entrances, door hardware, windows, handrails and wind-walls, etc.
· Self-motivated professional that enjoys detailed project work, strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and works well under pressure.
· Ability to manage multiple projects/clients at different stages of construction.
· Position demands maturity, confidentiality, and the ability to interface with various departments and individuals.
· Must be flexible and able to work independently or as part of a team, as workflow dictates.
· Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
