Position Summary
As a Software Associate Engineer specializing in industrial networking switches, you will play a key role in the development and optimization of complex systems utilized in testing embedded firmware for our advanced networking products. You will work in a collaborative environment that includes design, development, unit testing, and internal documentation in Windows and Linux environments. While not exclusively working in test engineering, this role will report into the Test Engineering Leader and have a significant component of their work in testing software.
Essential Job Functions
Collaborate with the engineering team to verify and ensure a user-friendly product design.
Work with team leadership to establish clear project milestones and deadlines and drive to meet those objectives.
Participate in cross-functional project teams with hardware and software engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet expectations of customers.
Develops, tests, and documents software systems to specification.
Ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Minimum Requirements
BS degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or electronics related field.
Proficiency in Java, C, and C++
Knowledge of automated test techniques and tools.
Knowledge of computer hardware and electronics, and awareness of the constraints of embedded systems.
Proficiency with English language both written and verbal communication.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work as a team member to solve problems and complete tasks creatively and cooperatively.
Preferred Qualifications
Some familiarity with software engineering tools for design documentation, revision control, issue tracking, and project scheduling.
Experience developing network products (layer 2 or layer 3 products)
