Dr. Schar USA is a gluten-free manufacturing company in Swedesboro, NJ looking to add a Technical Manager to our team. The job holder is responsible for the compliance of group wide standards for process equipment and technologies. He is executing with the technical team delegated investment projects and is responsible for the required documentation and reporting. Responsible for food safety and quality and reporting deviations to key authority personnel.
Leadership Tasks:
- Planning and implementation of group wide standard for technical department
- Responsible for production Investment projects for the plant Swedesboro
- Planning of staffing needs for technical department
- Employee’s selection, supervision, evaluation, and development of the corresponding division (determination of the training requirements, training, contents and effectiveness).
- Development and update of job descriptions.
- Cost responsible for technical budgets
- Optimization of technical processes and costs savings
- Controlling and establishing work schedule for technicians
- Process optimization and projects implementation (Planning, execution, FAT, training)
Individual tasks
- Responsible for spare part organization and categorizing invoices D3
- Weekly check of report Navision technics „ Work request list“, delegates and decides on priorities, advice for disciplinary actions
- Determining the need of spare parts for new and existing machines
- Navision Tech key user, Responsible for correct handling and usage of spare part and maintenance software
- Determining and development of maintenance tasks
- Responsible for development of maintenance plans based on manufacture recommendations, experience, learning and troubleshooting.
- Update maintenance points, control of technical documentation and archival storage
- Supporting line technicians in resolving extraordinary technical issues and troubleshooting
- Planning and controlling of regular cleaning duties for technical areas (e.g. shop, mechanical room,…), advice for disciplinary actions
- Search for suppliers and solicitation of proposals in technical area
- Enforcement of following existing and written procedure by technicians (e.g. GM-Safe, SQF)
- Optimization of processes and their stability
- Standardization and advancement of technologies across plants
- Working out and updating of maintenance contracts
- Visit of fairs to check out the latest technology
- Planning of the maintenance week with technical team
- Identification of hazards and compliance with the requirements (e.g. SDS,…)
- Planning and organizing technical meetings
- Internal contact for building services (air conditioning, heating, electricity, security and fire alarm)
- Checks security guidelines and application in the facility, monitors employees and takes actions in case of violation
- Responsible for food safety and quality and reporting deviations to the key authority personnel.
Additional:
- Member of the Quality, SQF and HACCP team as a technical representative
- The job holder might be assigned to other tasks and duties if necessary and needed
Requirements
- At least 5 years experience in a maintenance or technical role
- Candidate must possess a high school degree or equivalent
- Electrician experience required
