Job Summary
This position has responsibility for the successful operation of the wastewater treatment plant.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process and management
- Operates sewage treatment, sludge processing, and disposal equipment to control flow and processing of sewage
- Perform daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and periodic checks of pump stations
- Responsible for preventative maintenance of plant equipment and perform repairs of machinery and equipment as needed
- Read and interpret meters and gauges that monitor the purification process and operation
- Collects and records data for record maintenance and reporting
- Performs facility grounds maintenance including cleaning equipment and tanks
- Perform general landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, clean-ups, pruning, and other typical landscape maintenance tasks
- Performs other related duties as directed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current or previous state-issued water/ wastewater certifications
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Records required to use CWS company vehicles
- Experience within a water/wastewater treatment environment
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- Ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be available to work weekends, overtime and ‘on-call’ as needed
