About the RoleIn our General Medical and Surgical Units, you'll encounter a wide range of patients with varying diagnoses, including chronic illnesses such as COPD, Diabetes, CHF, and end-stage renal disease. You'll also manage GI issues, infections, neurological issues, and mental health disorders. Our patients undergo various procedures, from colonoscopies to minor surgeries.
General Job Duties - Perform comprehensive assessments and care planning
- Engage in inter-professional communication
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR)
- Manage IV therapy, heparin and insulin drips
- Operate equipment like IV pumps, wound vacs, feeding tubes, and chest tubes
Equipment Utilized - Epic electronic record system
- Pyxis machines
- Accucheck blood glucose monitors
- Hospira IV pumps
- Telemetry monitoring
Requirements - Minimum one year of Med Surg hospital experience (two years preferred)
- Current BLS certification
- IN State or compact RN license
ScheduleEnjoy the flexibility of 12-hour shifts with the requirement of working 3 weekend shifts in 4 weeks. You'll float to areas in greatest need, ensuring a dynamic and varied work experience. Patient ratios are maintained at 1:5 to ensure quality care.
Orientation and TrainingWe provide a comprehensive orientation program known as Jump Start, which includes one day of general hospital orientation, approximately five days of nursing orientation, and Epic classes. This ensures you're well-prepared and confident in your role.
