JOB – Automation Technician
LOCATION – Lafayette, IN
TERM – Permanent
SALARY – $75,000 - $85,000 per annum
My client, a premier systems integration company specializing in delivering innovative automation and control solutions for a number of manufacturing sectors is on the lookout for an experienced Automation Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation equipment, with a strong focus on ensuring optimal performance of automated production systems.
The Automation Technician's role will involve:
- Install, maintain, and repair automated machinery and control systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on automation equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with PLCs, sensors, actuators, and other control components.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement process improvements and upgrades.
- Calibrate and adjust automation systems to meet operational specifications.
- Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on automated equipment.
The Automation Technician will ideally have the following attributes:
- 3+ years of experience in automation or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens).
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems in automated equipment.
- Experience with HMI systems, robotics, and other automation technologies.
- Installation and commissioning of I/O within new manufacturing facilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
