Job Description
Insight Global is looking for Mechanical Engineers to join the team of one of their top energy customers based in Greenville, SC. This position is onsite in Greenville. The engineer will be focused on mechanical design work, and will own component modification including: mechanical design of hardware, 1D hand calculations, model/drawing definition, creation BoMs and hardware procurement and manufacturing, along with assembly support. This engineer will work with the product definition drafting team, aero engineers, heat transfer, MPE materials and other engineering teams. This person will also interface directly with suppliers to fabricate prototypes and modify existing test hardware so this person must be comfortable interacting with multiple groups. Weekly documentation of design, manufacturing and testing is needed, and this engineer will provide design and manufacturing support for various projects. This is a Monday-Friday, 40hrs per week position. Hours are 7am-4pm.
Must Haves:
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong background in mechanical design of hardware (modeling/drafting/definition)
- Experience with NX or similar CAD software
- Strong understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Some exposure to manufacturing environment or hands-on experience with tools (mill, lathe, welding)
