CNC Hard Turn Operator and Programmer
From $30/hour, based on experience

Second shift: 5pm – 3am
Kelly Services, in partnership with a global leader in the automotive industry, is seeking a skilled CNC Hard Turn Operator and Programmer to join our production team. This role involves setting up, operating, or tending to hard turn grinding and related tools for the Mazak CNC Hard Turn operation.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and tend to the Mazak CNC machine, including loading, unloading, making simple offsets, and changing wheel packs.
- Write programs in Mazatrol from blueprints, with at least 2 years of experience, including creating new programs and utilizing existing ones.
- Troubleshoot programs, create, and dress wheel packs.
- Set up the machine per the setup sheet or customer print.
- Verify machine setup by inspecting and verifying product characteristics are within tolerance per the part print specifications. Conduct checks on the 1st piece and throughout the process run using appropriate measuring devices suitable for required tolerances.
- Clean parts and move them to the next operation. Perform weekly or monthly machine maintenance and tool upkeep.
- Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
- Assist and train team members as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read blueprints and use hand tools.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
- Must submit to and pass background and substance abuse tests.
- Must follow designated safety rules and regulations.
- Must be able to work extended hours (including weekends) as necessitated by production requirements.
