Seeking a passionate M&P engineer with a focus in Electrical Systems Integration, working with electrical, manufacturing, and structural engineers to meet design requirements for functionality, manufacturability, integration, inspection, and maintenance. The right candidate must be highly organized and self-driven while possessing a deep understanding of aerospace design standards. This position is exciting and rewarding, as the engineer will promptly see their ideas grow from concept to creation due to the fast pace of the company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Author detailed specifications for electrical components, assemblies, and installations, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry standards
* Research and evaluate materials and processes suitable for use in electrical systems, considering factors such as performance, cost, and manufacturability
* Conduct thorough analysis and testing of materials and processes to determine suitability and repeatability
* Document all specifications, material selections, and processes in accordance with company standards and procedures
* Work closely with vendors and suppliers to source materials and ensure compliance with specifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, other relevant discipline and 3+ years of working experience in a relevant industry OR
* In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of working experience in a relevant industry
* Proven experience in specifications authoring and materials & process selection, preferably in the electrical and mechanical engineering domain
* Experience with hands-on design, prototyping, and testing; specifically soldering, crimping, and other wiring processes
* Understanding of ERP/MRP/PLM solutions
* Experience with SolidWorks/Pro-E or Catia, specifically using Electrical 3D Design, Electrical 3D Part Design, Electrical Manufacturing Preparation, Assembly Design, Part Design, and Generative Shape Design
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* M.S./Ph.D. in relevant discipline
* 10+ years of working experience in relevant industry
* 2+ years of electrical manufacturing engineering experience
* Understanding of ERP/MRP/PLM solutions
* Familiarity with EWIS aerospace standards, such as SAE AS50881, AC 43.13 Ch.11, ASTM F2639, etc.
* Experience with Catia, specifically using Electrical 3D Design, Electrical 3D Part Design, Electrical Manufacturing Preparation, Assembly Design, Part Design, and Generative Shape Design
