We are looking for a versatile Forward Deployed Engineer. This role is a hybrid of network, customer success, forward deployment, embedded systems, and software engineering. You will play a critical role in installing embedded devices at customer sites to facilitate advanced space missions, managing data flow through software-defined radios (SDRs), and ensuring robust performance of network systems.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure embedded devices at customer sites.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers during installation and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of RF technologies with customer systems.
- Develop and maintain networking protocols and software for embedded Linux, cloud, and lab environments.
- Ensure the reliability and performance of network systems in terrestrial and space applications.
- Implement and manage containerized services for network operations.
- Provide feedback on architecture, design, and code to ensure software systems meet requirements.
- Contribute to the instrumentation and optimization of communication software.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in developing software for Linux-based systems.
- Expertise in C++, C, and/or Python.
- Experience with GNU Radio.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP, UDP, etc.).
- Experience with software-defined radios (SDRs) and RF technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Proven ability to write production-quality code.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and cross-functional teams effectively.
- Knowledge of digital signal processing and embedded systems.
- Formal education in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
$90,000 - $170,000 a year
