TITLE: COMSEC Manager II

POSITION SUMMARY
Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a dynamic COMSEC Manager to play a pivotal role in safeguarding our nation’s most sensitive information. As a key member of our team, you’ll support Special Access Programs (SAPs) for high-profile Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, including HQ Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). You’ll be at the forefront of securing Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities. This position offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in COMSEC requirements and procedures, including the acquisition, maintenance, operation, and disposition of COMSEC equipment, while making a direct impact on national security.
RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to):
- Conduct inventories, inspections, and oversight for secure equipment, encryption devices, and classified keying material; report discrepancies to the government customer.
- Install and coordinate the delivery of secure telephone equipment and encryption devices to IT specialists for classified networks.
- Administer a Top Secret inventory and document control program for COMSEC equipment and materials.
- Ensure compliance with Automated Information Systems Security requirements and proper physical security accreditation for supported facilities.
- Courier classified information, author receipts, and train personnel in COMSEC procedures and equipment use.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for team members.
- Perform regular lifting (25–40 pounds) and work in a physical location that may require traversing between buildings; sedentary work required at least 50% of the time.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI security clearance.
- Must possess eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
- Must be willing to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.
- Must possess some Special Access Program (SAP) experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or other relevant field - OR - an additional 4 years of relevant experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in communication security, or other relevant field.
- Must have strong COMSEC accountability knowledge, including procedures for issuing, receiving, inventorying, and mailing COMSEC equipment and materials.
- Must be familiar with COMSEC requirements, including acquisition, maintenance, operation, and disposition of COMSEC equipment.
- Ability to manage stress with professionalism, demonstrate leadership and critical thinking, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
