Position Summary
Electrical Reliability Engineer will work closely with I/E’s and reliability engineers to improve electrical safety and reliability. This will include ownership of the electrical safety program, stewardship of power system model, and visionary for strategic improvement plan of electrical distribution assets.
The focus will be to improve EHSS performance, asset reliability, reduce maintenance cost, and foster continuous learning.
How You Can Be the Impact
- Lead the site wide Electrical Safety program.
- Review and approve electrical project scope.
- Monitor electrical assets performance, predict equipment failures, and proactively address potential issues through effective equipment strategy.
- Support troubleshooting activities and develop electricians’ technical skills.
- Approve Power Systems Studies.
- Assist in the development and training of Site personnel based on requirements and knowledge gap identified.
- Develop and improve Standard Maintenance Procedures and Maintenance Plans.
- Facilitate incident investigations on equipment failures, operation downtime events, and electrical safety incidents.
- Effectively share Key Learnings throughout the Site and Corporation to prevent similar events from occurring and to further grow a learning culture.
- Turnaround scope review and support during execution for all electrical equipment. Ensure immediate technical support with recommendation related to any unexpected findings during turnaround execution period.
- Implement best practices, technical alerts, and corporate Manufacturing Standards for electrical equipment.
- Develop multiyear asset plans for electrical equipment.
Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of NETA, NFPA 70, and NFPA 70E
- 3 years (or more) experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Outstanding aptitude and understanding of electrical equipment and systems.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary.
- Experience in reliability tools for preventative & predictive techniques is preferred.
- Knowledge of Industry Standards, such as IEEE, is preferred.
- Able to read, write, perform basic mathematics, competent with computer business software, provide clear / concise written & verbal communication.
- Able to work with and influence a diverse group from operations technicians & craftsperson’s to site & business management.
- Must be a self-starter with the capability to facilitate discussions.

- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with operation, technical, employees and contract maintenance crafts people.
- Familiarity with design and maintenance of electric equipment including variable speed drives, DC motors, AC induction motors, breakers, contactors, batteries, and UPS.
- Familiarity with P&ID, piping isometrics, and Process Flow Diagrams.

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
