SUMMARY:
- The Assistant Manager is an essential part of the management team with a focus on customer service, sales and quality assurance. The Company is looking for a second Assistant Manager to provide management coverage on Fridays and Saturdays. This position is 80% operational / 20% administrative
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your primary role is to ensure quality of services and care, build positive relationships with our customers, and manage and coach team members
- Manage daily operations and ensure quality of care and services
- Create a welcoming environment for customers and dogs
- Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally and ensure customer satisfaction
- Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
- Assist in employee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, promotion and termination activities
- Have expert knowledge of company's products and services with ability to suggest services for customer needs and promote dog wellbeing
- Perform audits and follow-up to ensure product and service quality
- Ensure all pricing, signage, and displays are correct at all times and the lobby and front desk is neat and orderly and assist with ordering
- Ensure equipment and supplies are being properly maintained
- Assist with facility maintenance. The facility to be maintained according to company standards to optimize safety, health and appearance
- Help team with on shift duties to ensure success and completion of work
- Other duties as may be assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must love dogs and be willing and able to learn dog behavior and health
- Management or supervisor experience, preferably in animal services
- At least 2 years customer service experience
- Highly developed interpersonal and managerial skills
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, develop and empower employees
- Ability to work under own initiative in a face paced environment
- Ability to work through problems, troubleshoot and come to an appropriate solutions
- Ability to prioritize work based on deadlines and urgency
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Must love dogs and be able to interact and engage with all breeds
- Associates or Bachelor degree a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Standing for up to 7 hours per day
- Ability to lift up to 45lbs
- Bending, reaching, and other physical demands associated with cleaning and handling dogs
