Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our General / Perio office. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to perform dental cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and scaling / root planing.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments
- Perform patient assessments and document medical history and treatment plans
- Take dental x-rays and develop them for diagnostic purposes
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure a safe and clean environment for patients
- Keep accurate records of patient treatment and progress
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive dental care
Skills
- Experience with intra-oral scanners
- Familiarity with Dentrix electronic health record system
- Strong patient assessment skills to identify oral health issues
- Knowledge of infection control protocols to maintain a sterile environment
- Familiarity with dental office procedures and workflows
- Proficient in medical documentation, including accurate charting and recordkeeping
