Middle School Principal
The International Leadership Charter Middle School has the same mission as the high school and a new vision. The rigorous and innovative curriculum makes the future of Science (S.T.E.A.M.), including Robotics and coding, accessible to all Middle School students. The middle school is in School District 10 in the Bronx. Our Mission: Change lives and transform communities’ one scholar at a time.
Position Summary:
The Middle School Principal will be responsible for providing the leadership, guidance and supervision of the Academic Program to maintain and sustain high levels of student performance. The Middle School Principal will implement an academically rigorous curriculum that will raise the student's intellectual capacity, provide them with a superior high school education and prepare them for higher education. The Middle School Principal will work collaboratively with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure that school performance standards and student achievement continue to exceed all city and statewide requirements that are aligned with our Charter’s academic goals. The Middle School Principal will also work collaboratively with the CEO to ensure that a school culture is developed that supports a culture of high academic and behavioral expectations. The Secondary School Principal will conduct ongoing informal and formal observations and write teacher evaluations.
Key Duties:
- Implement the charter school’s Mission, Vision, Core Values and Goals
- Facilitate training and implementation of the Components of Effective teaching adopted by our charter school for the evaluation of teaching and learning.
- Conduct informal and formal observations and write teacher evaluations
- Manages data collection system for teacher observation and evaluation
- Provide for the development of clear and comprehensive assessment of student achievement and interpretation of results to faculty and school community.
- Recommend school-wide direction as a result of the analysis of student achievement needs.
- Work collaboratively with the CEO to create an effective learning environment and ensure full alignment of external and internal instructional goals and benchmarks.
- Provide instructional leadership in advancing proven teaching and learning principles based on our charter school's successful instructional model.
- Continuously monitor effective the implementation of instructional support for Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners and facilitate the analysis of student achievement data to achieve continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate the ability to model and apply a variety of effective instructional strategies/methods to classroom practices.
- Keep abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and discussing educational issues of mutual interest with other professionals in the field
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student staff and/or parent information.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s Degree with a minimum of five years of successful teaching experience.
- Appropriate Administrative License (emphasis in educational administration preferred).
- Effective at providing leadership in the supervision of all school personnel for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing professional growth and achieving overall objectives of the charter's instructional program.
- Facilitate the development, revisions and evaluation of the curriculum and instructional services for the charter
- Have instructional experience with a record of high levels of student achievement and a demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous and inquiry-based classroom instruction and materials
- Be passionate about teaching and learning
- Hold exceptionally high personal standards for performance and be a person of high moral character and with well-developed emotional intelligence
- Demonstrate an ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize strategically
- Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with the CEO, administrators, students, parents, teachers and community
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation will be commensurate with level of experience and a record of demonstrated success. We are seeking an individual of outstanding quality with a track record of positive outcomes. The International Leadership Charter High School is prepared to offer a compensation package commensurate with experience, to include a competitive base salary as well as health, dental, vision and 401 (K).

Salary: $140,000.00 - $160,000 commensurate with experience (the higher end of the salary scale is reserved for applicants with at least 2-3 years of Principal experience).
