Avera is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera's patient-focused settings.

Job Summary
The role of an addiction nurse is unique, in that the treatment they provide is both psychological and physical. Substance abuse nurses may monitor and assess the detoxification process, participate in patient interventions and administer drugs to help patients manage their addiction. The Department of Nursing at Avera McKennan endorses Standards of Care that require all nurses to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a competent and professional level of behavior in his/her role as an LPN. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual actions, duties and outcomes performed. To provide physical and psychological care to patients consistent with the scope and standards of nursing practice.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Licensed as a LPN in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of Multi-state licensure required.
Work Schedule
- Weekend Contract: Friday/Saturday/Sunday, 12-hour day shifts; 72 hours every 2 weeks

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
