Position: Configuration Manager
Location: Orlando, FL 32826 – Hybrid: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite
Duration: 6-month contract to potential hire
Pay Rate: $58/hr
Must haves:
- Experience in Configuration Management: Familiarity with best practices like EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61, ISO, ITIL, and CMMI.
- PDM Tool Expertise: Skilled in using advanced Product Data Management tools for hardware, systems, or software.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
Plusses:
- Software Experience: Familiarity with Aras Innovator, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins.
- Certifications: Configuration Management certifications like NDIA or CMII.
- Agile Methods: Experience with Agile development.
- IBM DOORS: Knowledge of IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG).
- Government Experience: Worked with US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, or Air Force.
- Deployment Technologies: Experience with Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- Proposal Skills: Experience in proposal writing and cost estimation.
- ISO 9001:2015: Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System, including audit experience.
Day-to-Day:
Our client is seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to lead a team of configuration and data managers. This role involves working with engineering, production, and sustainment teams to manage and maintain various configuration baselines (hardware, software, etc.). Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and Implement Plans: Create and apply configuration management (CM) plans according to company, industry, and military standards.
- Coordinate with Teams: Work with Aras Innovator administrators and cross-functional teams to customize processes and address any CM issues.
- Manage Data and Documents: Ensure accurate and timely updates to configuration items, manage technical data packages, and provide updates to customers.
- Support Change Management: Establish robust change management processes and ensure compliance with data export requirements.
- Audit and Compliance: Plan and execute baseline and process audits to ensure proper application of CM practices.
- Communication: Communicate CM status to management and support engineering, training, logistics, and cybersecurity processes.
