Position Summary:
The Procedural Resource Nurse provides clinical support across the Middlesex Health assisting in procedures and the recovery of patients throughout surgical services to include Endoscopy and Interventional Radiology. This RN will also assist with providing support to patients as well as staff throughout the organization when indicated. Ideal candidate will have experience in Critical Care, ED or Surgical Services.
Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision the Procedural RN will complete the following:
- Function as a primary recovery nurse
- Assume primary responsibility for assisting with Endoscopy and IR procedures
- Assist clinical staff with transport of clinically compromised patients
- Coordinate and support the care of unstable patients
- Respond timely to Rapid Response Team/Cardiac Arrest (Team A) calls when available
- Identify situations of clinical risk and act to decrease risk
- Encourage critical thinking among staff to encourage positive outcomes
- Insert Peripheral IV catheters, PICCS and midlines

- Active communication with Nursing Supervisor in the coordination of care

- Other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Expert Clinical Nursing Skill and Knowledge
- Current, unrestricted Connecticut Nursing License
- 1years previous emergency/critical care experience or surgical services
- 5 years as Registered Nurse
- Cultural awareness
- ACLS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board of Nursing Certification
- Experience with interdisciplinary teamwork
- Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training
- Prior PACU/Endoscopy/ IR experience
- Prior EKOS/TIPS experience
