Work Dates Needed: 9/27-9/29, ongoing. On a monthly basis it will vary between 10 to 20 days of call. Preferred Schedule: 24 Hour Beeper Call (7a-7a) Worksite Setting: Inpatient Scope of Work: The Obstetrics and Gynecology physician in this position will provide 24-hour call coverage, ensuring a response time of 30 minutes for onsite presence. While clinic hours are not scheduled, the physician can anticipate seeing approximately 2 patients per day. 2 Gratis hours are included in Call. Call-back hours inclusive of patient contact after 2 gratis hours, necessitate documented reasons. Travel time is excluded from call-back hours, offering physicians flexibility regarding onsite presence based on criteria. The duration of hospital stays varies depending on situational requirements. Situations prompting the on-call locum OB to be summoned to the hospital include rounding and deliveries, as well as occasions requiring epidurals, surgery, or anesthesia. Specializing in handling both low and high-risk pregnancies, interpreting fetal heart rate monitoring, and performing obstetric ultrasounds, the physician must manage a broad spectrum of obstetric procedures. Proficiency in cesarean sections, VBACs, and repairing 3rd & 4th degree lacerations is imperative. Expertise in office/minor gynecology procedures and surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and operative interventions, is also essential. During locum coverage, the physician will be supported by two registered nurses (RNs), and supervision of advanced practice providers is not mandated.
