We are seeking a .NET Core Developer on a consultant basis to assist with a modernization of one of our client's platforms. We are looking for a developer with a background in developing scalable, high-quality, and high-performance applications using .NET Core framework. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and deploying applications, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET Core.
- Code Quality: Write clean, scalable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Testing: Develop and execute unit tests to ensure the quality of the code.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for reference and reporting.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the continuous improvement of our development processes.
Modernization Efforts
- Migration of .net to .net core
- Move from a proprietary repository to Github (half of the locations are on the tool, need to migrate the rest)
- Mature the UI (React)
- Move to modern component libraries along with move from 32 to 64 Bit
- Will partner with the architects to assess on items such as;
- What architectural considerations do we need to think through?
- What work do we need to pause to ensure a successful migration?
- What considerations do we need to make (technical and non-technical)?
- What dependencies to we need to consider?
Keys to success:
- Sr. Developer with experiences with payments or HOA (ideal) space to help with a modernization effort
- Experience with migration of systems including .net to .net core and a good react background
- Modern Tech Stack (ideally experience with Azure/AWS etc.)
- Ability to communicate with architecture and think about future state while balancing execution of current tasks
