Position Title: Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Parsippany, New Jersey
Overview:
My client is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join their team. This position involves managing and directing engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring all objectives are met within the allocated budget and timeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee site investigations and assess surface and subsurface conditions to provide expert recommendations.
- Define project scope, objectives, and milestones, developing comprehensive schedules and budgets.
- Manage project budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within the allocated financial plan.
- Prepare and deliver project documentation, including design documents, proposals, and status reports.
- Supervise and coordinate project personnel, including assigning tasks and overseeing technical studies, product design, and testing.
- Ensure all designs comply with engineering principles, standards, and customer requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison with clients, providing regular updates and ensuring all project needs are met.
- Conduct and manage research activities, developing plans, designing experiments, and ensuring project milestones are achieved.
- Mentor and develop junior staff, providing guidance, training, and career development support.
- Reinforce and build business relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Prepare estimates for proposals, outlining time and expenses required to complete projects.
- Travel occasionally (approximately 10% of the time) to project sites, including out-of-state locations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 8-10 years of engineering experience, including at least 5 years in project management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- Previous experience in construction and managing engineering projects is preferred.
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, NitroPro, GSLOPE, KeyWall, Rocscience, MS Word, Excel, and Adobe.
- Strong mathematical skills, including knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, and statistical analysis.
