Role Profile
The AI office seeks to appoint a highly skilled and experienced individual to set up and lead our Co-Innovation AI Labs as a Senior Director.
This role is pivotal in our strategic vision to rapidly scale our AI capabilities and integrate with a broader developer ecosystem. They will work to rapidly accelerate AI projects with our partner and developer communities, encouraging and promoting ADI products and services amidst a diverse multivendor ecosystem of HW, SW and AI.
Note: multiple US locations will be considered including Boston, MA | Wilmington MA | San Jose, CA
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing multiple innovation labs globally, driving AI and solution co-innovation, and fostering partnerships with external developers and technology providers. This position will report directly to senior leadership and play a critical role in our company's growth and innovation strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Establish multiple AI co-innovation labs for ADI globally, ensuring rapid setup and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement operational processes, maintaining strict adherence to budgetary guidance and KPIs
- Drive the vision and strategic direction of the innovation labs, aligning with the company's broader Edge AI and ecosystem goals.
- Negotiate and set up contracts for resource suppliers for HW, SW and data/AI services.
- Ensure the labs support integration with third-party hardware and promote a broad developer ecosystem.
- Oversee the partner and customer solution building within the labs, ensuring high quality, relevant and actionable signal back to the business
- Facilitate collaborative projects with external partners, ensuring high-quality outputs and innovation.
- Seek appropriate sponsorship and funding to promote ADI’s AI ambitions
- Manage relationships with third-party providers and external developers avoiding IP contamination.
- Foster a collaborative environment where external partners can bring their projects and use cases for development.
- Avoid dilution of value by demonstrating the ability to work across different hardware ecosystems from the outset.
- Leverage existing developer communities to accelerate the growth of the ADI’s developer ecosystem.
- Ensure the labs are ready to support changing dynamics – as ADI grows its AI capability
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a balance and impactful pipeline of customers and partners with regular events to inform and connect.
- Create a repeatable blueprint for all lab projects with preparation, sprints and outputs defined with standardized dashboard and reporting.
- Adhere to all ADI policies and procedures and drive our Responsible AI principles through all lab projects.
- Drive innovation through a experimentation approach, enabling rapid development and iteration of AI solutions.
- Promote the labs as a hub for ecosystem growth and AI co-innovation
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's or its equivalent experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related technical field.
- A robust history of leading major AI initiatives at the enterprise level, consistently achieving significant outcomes in large-scale business transformations.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a major tech company or innovation-driven organization.
- Familiarity with the AI developer community and experience in building or managing developer ecosystems.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale projects and delivering results within tight timelines.
- Passion for driving innovation and fostering a collaborative, creative environment.
- Demonstrated experience in setting up and managing innovation labs or similar environments.

ADI’s First Chief AI Officer, Rashmi Misra
Rashmi is a globally recognized expert in the developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) ecosystem and brings a wealth of expertise in the field of AI.
Prior to joining ADI, Rashmi served as the General Manager of AI, Data & Emerging Technologies for Microsoft, where she was responsible for overseeing the company's global AI partnership ecosystem, playing a key role in the establishment of their partnership with OpenAI, and helping to shape the AI agenda for Azure, enterprise software, and other key business units.
She has a unique blend of business and technical acumen, having managed a full P&L as a General Manager, spearheaded technically nuanced AI partnership deals, and developed new AI-powered product and business model frameworks. Her role is a hybrid of new product innovation and spearheading unconventional, industry-changing partnerships that touch all industries from agriculture to government to discreet manufacturing.
Rashmi's depth in AI is world class, having received her Ph.D. in multi-reasoning systems and artificial intelligence before that was a common concentration. She has since spent her career on the cutting edge of AI products, engineering challenges and go-to-market opportunities, and has garnered broad industry influence and recognition. She is regularly invited to speak at industry forums, is a technical advisor to NASA Frontier development labs on AI and holds six international patents.
