Job description
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team, specializing in underground utilities projects related to water and sewer systems. The Senior Project Manager will oversee commercial and municipal jobs, leading a team of project coordinators and guiding them in project planning, execution, and completion. As a key member of the leadership team, the Senior Project Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Project Manager/Team on a daily basis to plan, execute, and finalize projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and project documentation
- Assist in creating project plans, schedules, and budgets, monitor project progress and maintain project records
- Ensure effective communication between project stakeholders, team members, clients, and subcontractors
- Ensure quality control is maintained and perform quality control checks, address any issues promptly
- Ensure all field activities adhere to Apex and municipality standards and specifications
- Assist in tracking project expenses, reviewing financial reports, and making recommendations to control project
- costs
- Assist in maintaining accurate project documentation, including contracts change orders, and progress reports
- Identify and assess project risks and issues. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate potential problems
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, safety, and compliance with project plans
- Supervise and provide guidance to field teams, ensuring a collaborative and productive working environment
- Identify needs or deficiencies in training, equipment and resources and communicate these to the Project Manager
- Manage the preparation and executing of the project closeout process
- Handle customer service issues and customer complaints as needed
- Complete additional tasks assigned to support the effective functioning of the pothole management process
- Assist in maintaining progress payments, for federal, commercial, and residential projects.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- 5+ years of related experience
- Advanced knowledge of construction principles/practices preferred
- Experience in managing field staff and building relationships with clients
- Demonstrated track record of jobsite safety excellence
- Strong computer skills, emphasis on Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitive and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, DMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
