HMC's Facilities Manager is a full-time, salaried-exempt position that reports to the General Manager.
The essential function of this position is responsible for effectively maintaining the Facilities & Maintenance and Receiving departments to ensure the facility is kept clean and physical plant is operating smoothly, safely, and efficiently. To manage the receiving of goods and overall leadership of the day-to-day operations of these departments and personnel onsite at Hunger Mountain Co-op.
- Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders for building and grounds
- Assist departments in achieving cleanliness goals by Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, and parking lots spaces
- Oversee maintenance of building, equipment, mechanical systems, and grounds.
- Respond promptly to facility-related issues and perform routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed
- Coordinate ordering of equipment and store supplies
- Effectively arrange for repairs/service as needed; communicate relevant information to appropriate staff
- Function as liaison with service companies by scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
· Contract with and supervise all outside contractors for facilities related projects.
- Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions and ensuring facilities projects are completed on time and at or below budget.
- Hire, train, and supervise Facilities & Maintenance and Receiving department staff in keeping with Co-op policies and procedures.
- Schedule staff hours Facilities & Maintenance and Receiving department needs.
- Review timecards and submit to payroll for all Facilities & Maintenance and Receiving department staff.
- Ensure effective communication within the Facilities & Maintenance and Receiving departments and storewide.
- Develop Facilities & Maintenance and Receiving department staff; conduct staff performance evaluations.
· Oversee the receiving of goods and services into the store. Participate in receiving as needed.
- Administer work problem resolution procedure to Facilities & Maintenance and Receiving staff as required by the collective bargaining agreement.
· Ensure all Facilities & Maintenance and Receiving Department staff follow all health code and safety procedures and cleaning schedules.
- Serve as member of the Senior Management team.
