Title: Electrical Design Engineer (Onsite)
Location: Katy, TX
Salary: $105,000 - $125,000
Requirements:
- BSEE or related discipline required.
- 5-7 years’ experience in power electronics design (Recent graduate with knowledge of Power Electronics with minimum of 1 year internship experience is also considered)
- AutoCAD experience required
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be assigned to projects involving the electrical design, localization and production of medium voltage adjustable speed drives, photovoltaic inverters and UPS. The Electrical Design Engineer will utilize marketing specifications for new products, localize products for US market and support project and sales engineers in product applications. The Engineer will work closely within a team to perform various functions of design, including schematics, circuitry, wiring and package integration. The Engineer will provide engineering expertise to drafters/designers/production personnel on production orders.
Duties and Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Perform system level and detailed circuit design of power electronic circuits and associated control and interface circuits to meet the requirement of the engineering specification
- Perform product localization with Japan HQ engineering or technical support groups
- Conduct tests, analyze test data, and write test reports to record operating performance and provide data to support product compliance with customer or internal specifications and applicable third-party standards.
- Specify components for use in drives, PV inverters and UPS.
- Provide technical content for product manuals.
- Attend or lead design reviews both internal group and with customers to resolve technical and program management issues.
- Manage Design-To-Cost to work with other groups.
- Provide support to other company functions during the manufacturing process to bring designs to completion, to include operations, procurement, planning, program management, test, outside vendors, etc.
Minimum Education/Experience:
- BSEE or related discipline required. Recent graduate with knowledge of Power Electronics are also welcomed.
- 5-7 years’ experience in power electronics design preferred, but not required.
- AutoCAD experience mandatory.
- Experience with medium voltage product design preferred.
- Experience with MW class PV PCS product design preferred.
- Experience with large capacity UPS product design preferred.
- Knowledge of magnetics a plus.
- Experience with application and specification of transformers, reactors, filters desired.
- Strong organization and excellent time management skills.
- Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience with power circuit simulator, such as PSIM, PSpice or MAT
