The Position:
We’re seeking a Director of Career Services for Rockford Career College. This person plays a vital role in the success of all our students and will be supporting them throughout their student lifecycle to fulfill our mission of providing quality entry level professionals for our communities.

What You’ll Do:
- Oversee all department functions, including staffing, managing, and mentoring a staff of Career Services Personnel.
- Ensure that each student interacts with Career Services staff to discuss cannabis industry job interests and post-graduation plans.
- Meet or exceed regulator placement benchmarks.
- Oversee and monitor the development and retention of relationships with cannabis industry employers for the purposes of externships and job placement of graduates.
- Oversee and monitor the development of job orders from employers, the presentation of graduates’ resumes, scheduling of interviews, and follow-up with employers and graduates.
- Manage and monitor the services and resources provided to students and graduates to assist in their job search.
- Assist current students in securing part-time employment through job boards and individual service as needed.
- Plan in conjunction with the Deans of Academic Affairs all Program Advisory Meetings.
- Manage all externship staff, obtain externship sites, and ensure all students are placed on externship sites in a timely manner.
- Build community involvement: attend outside job fairs, invite employers to speak in classrooms, arrange on-campus interviews and organize job fairs when applicable.
- Maintain accurate graduate and alumni placement data via Campus Nexxus.
- Timely completion and submission of all required reports for AHED leadership, accrediting agency, and state licensing board (if applicable).
- Meet all required placement benchmarks for ACCSC, ABHES and JRDMS where applicable yearly.
- Ensure Career Services bulletin boards are maintained and updated.
- Deliver presentations to new and continuing students, graduates and alumni focused on Career Development and the services provided by the Career Services Department.
- Continuously survey graduates and employers to ensure that programs meet or exceed current job market and employer needs.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Special projects as assigned by Campus Directors.
- Obtain graduate and employer testimonials.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 5 years Microsoft Office experience required: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Minimum 5 years experience in career services preferred or employment background in any of the following:
- job placement department at a vocational school, college, or university;
- staffing agency;
- recruiting;
- marketing/new business development/sales;
- customer service
- Minimum 2+ years staff management experience.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional social interaction skills.
- Team player, a collaborative approach and positive attitude.
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
- Consistently display the highest levels of integrity. Demonstrate sensitivity and ability to effectively relate to and work with prospective students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work a flexible schedule.
- Experience with Campus Nexxus application a plus.
- This is a remote-first role, and your home office needs to be conducive to a traditional work environment.
