Senior Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Designer - Plano, Texas
Position Overview:
This role involves developing products and technologies designed for use in extreme environments, such as space. The aim is to make advanced space technology more accessible by integrating high-reliability and commercial technologies at a reduced cost. The company focuses on creating products and infrastructure tailored for small satellites and large constellations, ensuring they are high-performing, compact, and resistant to radiation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Circuit Design: Develop and layout analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for reliable products, ensuring they meet product specifications and timelines.
- Verification: Work with the verification team to ensure designs meet required specifications and functionality.
- Characterization: Collaborate with the validation and test team to characterize and test new products.
- Quality Assurance: Identify and address potential product issues in collaboration with the quality assurance team, providing design support for customer feedback.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for design reviews and circuit specifications to aid cross-functional teams.
- Process Improvement: Enhance design methodologies and systems for greater accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including systems, product development, and test engineering, to ensure alignment with product specifications.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in analog/mixed-signal design.
- Strong skills in circuit design and analysis.
- Experience in designing components such as ADCs, DACs, high-voltage circuits, voltage references, oscillators, and power converters.
- In-depth knowledge of CMOS/BICMOS processing and basic device physics.
- Proficient problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 8 years of experience in analog or mixed-signal design.
- Familiarity with the Cadence toolchain for custom circuit design.
