Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer to assist in the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors. The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting the project management team in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support:
- Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Support the project management team in the coordination of all project activities.
- Monitor project progress and report any issues or delays to the project manager.
- Technical Expertise:
- Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Assist in the resolution of technical issues and challenges that arise during construction.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and inspection records.
- Prepare and submit project status reports to the project management team and senior management.
- Assist in the preparation of project closeout documents and punch lists.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Conduct inspections and testing of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Address any quality issues or deficiencies promptly.
- Safety Management:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for site staff and subcontractors.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents or accidents.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical input and recommendations.
- Facilitate communication between the project management team and on-site personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and best practices.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, PlanGrid) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction codes and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
