The Role: Android Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC/Piscataway, NJ/Atlanta, GA
Overview:
As an Android Developer at Synechron, you will be responsible for crafting and maintaining high-quality native Android applications. Your role will focus on collaborating with our design and development teams to create applications that deliver seamless user experiences. You'll utilize your expertise in Android Studio and cross-platform frameworks to build, test, and deploy robust mobile applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and improve high-quality native Android applications.
- Collaborate with design teams to enhance application architectures and user experiences.
- Implement, optimize, and maintain automated testing and deployment strategies using Jenkins.
- Lead code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and adhere to best practices.
- Act as a mentor to junior developers, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Oversee the complete app lifecycle, from initial concept to delivery, including post-launch support and updates.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and resolve issues.
- Work in tandem with other mobile developers and product managers to bring app concepts to fruition through a cohesive build and test strategy.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in mobile development technologies.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of proven experience in Android app development.
- Strong proficiency with React Native and in-depth knowledge of Android Studio.
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools for continuous integration and delivery.
- Comprehensive understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
- Knowledgeable in cross-platform mobile development frameworks like React Native and Flutter.
- Proficiency with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
- Expertise in code versioning tools such as Git.
- Familiarity with integrating third-party libraries and APIs.
- Experience with push notifications, APIs, and cloud messaging.
- Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines specific to mobile applications.
- Strong understanding of containerized application development with experience deploying in PCF/Kubernetes environments.
- Proficiency in DevOps tools including Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Familiarity with code quality tools/frameworks such as PMD, SonarQube, JUnit, Mockito, and Mutation Testing.
- Experience with relational databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Minimum of 3 years working within Agile Scrum or SAFe Agile frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- A strong ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
