Summary of the position:
The QN Quality Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a professional and proactive relationship between the organization and the Quality Department for each product group. The QN Quality Coordinator will be responsible for non-conforming material control within the scope of the Quality Management System (QMS) for HGAP-US. The position will work cross-functionally with HGAP-US and our suppliers to ensure that Quality Notification (QN) dispositions are accurate and timely while driving for improvement actions to decrease overall QN time for closure and eliminate new QNs. In addition, this function will support various other SAP and document/record maintenance functions within the Quality organization.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Drive accountability across the Quality Notification (QN) process for efficient and effective initiations, disposition, and closure of individual tasks to overall QN closure.
- Administration of initiation and closure of Quality Notifications (QN) in SAP of all QN types (Receiving Inspection, Shop, Test, and Customer Returned Material).
- Complete inspection / investigation as needed for QN process.
- Leads the Material Review Boards with the assistance of a Quality Engineer for efficient QN dispositions.
- Manage all potential tasks/dispositions of a QN.
- Assign responsibilities for tasks and follow up activities to completion.
- Supports all functional areas in the disposition process and system requirements.
- Manages approvals for scrap and rework disposition: obtaining the appropriate approvals and ensuring correct SAP transactions.
- Ensure inventory control for non-conforming material.
- Maintaining accurate inventory of non-conforming material (physical and in SAP).
- Utilizing the correct Stock Type and Bin Locations in SAP.
- Escalate QN status to upper management to drive QN ownership and closure.
- Report regularly the status of non-conforming material inventory (QN).
- Summarize and present data in a clear adequate manner.
- As appropriate, responsibility for requesting and obtaining Return Material Authorizations (RMA) from suppliers.
- Requesting failure analysis and corrective action as appropriate from suppliers.
- Drives continuous improvement in the QN process and ways to eliminate QNs internally and from our suppliers.
- Support the QMS Supervisor and Quality Analyst in SAP and document/record maintenance processes:
- Quality Master Data
- Engineering Release (ER) Dispositions
- SAP data entry
- Machine Holds
- Metric gathering, reporting, etc.
- First Article Inspection (FAI) reports tracking
- Provides support to Quality Technicians for incoming inspection, containment activities, and investigation as appropriate based on business needs.
Qualifications:
Education and Knowledge
AA/AS Degree (preferred)
Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ-CQT/CMI training (preferred)
- Experience with SAP systems (preferred).
- Ability to read blueprints and measure parts with quality hand tools (caliper, micrometer, thread gages, etc.)

- High level of organization with attention to detail.
- Working skills: Structured, strong analytical skills and business focus.
- Must be capable to work independently, within a team as well as flexibility to adapt to changing environments. Goal and results oriented.
- Ability to think critically, anticipating/recognizing problems and resolving in a timely manner.
- Background in manufacturing, assembly, and/or warehouse processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
