We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated VP of Data and Analytics to lead our solution architecture, data engineering, and analytics team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in architecture, engineering, and analytics. Your proven ability to design and implement scalable solutions will be crucial in driving data-driven decision-making across the organization. You’ll collaborate with business units to deliver powerful tools, analytics, and reporting, ultimately enhancing decision-making at all levels. Reporting to the COO, you will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing data team and playing a key role in transforming the company into a data-driven organization. This role involves leveraging insights and analysis throughout the business and fostering a data-centric culture.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a data strategy that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Lead and manage the data and analytics team, including data architects, engineers, and analysts, to ensure the successful execution of data initiatives and projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, operations, product management, and business intelligence, to align data architecture initiatives with business objectives.
- Define and implement best practices, standards, and guidelines for data architecture to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our data infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation to support data governance and compliance.
- Translate complex data insights into actionable recommendations for improving customer experience, network optimization, product development, and marketing effectiveness.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance data architecture capabilities and drive innovation.
- Drive continuous improvement in data quality, integration, and management processes to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
- Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance, feedback, and growth opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related role, with a preference for experience in the telecommunications industry.
- Proven track record of building and leading high-performing data teams.
- Experience managing teams, with a focus on driving results, fostering collaboration, and developing talent.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, data warehouse/lake architecture, data integration, data transformation, and data governance concepts and practices.
- Demonstrated success in driving data-led business transformation initiatives and designing and implementing scalable data solutions to support business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset and a passion for data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of the telecommunications and internet service provider industry landscape.
- Experience with modern data solutions (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, or Databricks).
- Deep understanding and proven experience with utilizing emerging technologies (e.g., AI, ML, GenAI, IoT).
