Job Summary:
The Benefits Administrator is primarily responsible for assisting with research and responding to employee inquiries, while communicating between employees and insurance providers. This role will also be responsible for monitoring payroll deductions, processing enrollments, data entry and data audits. The Benefits Department is growing, and we are looking for an ambitious, goal-driven individual to join our team.
Essential Functions:
1. Committed to Serve. Assist new hires and current members with any questions or concerns relating to their insurance coverages. Provide members with information to better engage and utilize benefit services.
2. Communicate. Work with members and insurance carriers to resolve any benefits-related issues in a timely manner. Ability to facilitate and support Open Enrollment.
3. Measurement. Process monthly payroll deductions and monthly carrier invoices. Ensure data entry is accurate in our system as well as with our insurance carriers.
4. Ownership. Periodically audits the data integrity of our members information in HRIS. Process COBRA and all other separation paperwork as required.
5. Efficiency. Strong attention to detail, help facilitate and implement process improvement.
Requirements, Education and Experience:
1. Benefits or general Human Resource experience preferred.
2. Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree advantageous.
3. Proficient user of Microsoft Office and Excel to organize, analyze, and manipulate data.
4. Experience working in union and non-union environments preferred.
5. Excellent communication skills with all stakeholders.
6. Legal right to work in the U.S.

Travel:
Position may require up to 5% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This job operates in an office setting with occasional needs in the Production Plant environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. This would require the ability to sit at a desk, frequent walking, bend or stand as necessary.
