Avera is currently seeking Registered Nurses (RN) III to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera's patient-focused settings. What is The Link? The Link which is a community triage center located in Sioux Falls that is assist individuals who are experiencing a non-violent behavioral health crisis, seeking treatment for substance abuse disorders or searching for support services. Being a community triage center, The Link assists in meeting the individual's needs for critical services and linking them to the services to assist with their mental health or substance abuse challenges.

Job Summary The role of an addiction nurse is unique, in that the treatment they provide is both psychological and physical. Substance abuse nurses may monitor and assess the detoxification process, participate in patient interventions and administer drugs to help patients manage their addiction. The Department of Nursing at Avera McKennan requires all nurses to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a competent and professional level of behavior in his/her role as a RN. The American Nurses Associations (ANA) scope and standards of practice are exemplified within the position description. The Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide nursing care for the patient. Assumes responsibility and accountability for individual actions, duties and outcomes performed.
Education and/or Experience - Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
- Motivational interviewing and listening skills
Licensure/Certification/Registration - Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.
- Strongly encouraged to complete life-saving education specific to specialty area.
- Certification in specialty encouraged.
- Membership in a professional organization encouraged.
Work Schedule - Day/Evening/Night Shifts: 7:00am-7:30pm, 7:00pm-7:30am; PRN (as needed)
Pay The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
