SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is seeking a meticulous, and detail-oriented Medical Equipment Purchaser who will work in Long Beach, California location providing equipment planning duties for a local VA Hospital.
SJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with about 250 employees coast to coast; it specializes in professional services to support federal and military organizations.
The Pay for this position will be $60,320 annually. The benefits will also include 11 paid federal holidays per year, combined 80 hours accrued PTO and Sick time, and medical, health, dental, vision and life insurance package.
The Medical Equipment Planner shall be responsible for successfully developing and delivering the medical equipment plans as scoped for healthcare capital projects.
Some of the Responsibilities will include:
- Performs technical, administrative or professional work involving managing, administering, operating or supporting services and programs related to the operation and safety of Federal facilities.
- Produces procurement packages following VA/GSA contracting procurement standards including Statement of Work (SOW), technical specifications, attachments, documentation, drawings, independent government cost estimates, bid sheets and budgets to procure products and services.
- Identifies, evaluates, and recommends equipment to be purchased for large and small renovation projects and new healthcare facilities
- Interpret, and review provided architectural plans for concurrence to the organization’s Technical Information Library (TIL), standards and equipment specifications as used for the basis of current construction.
- Produces initial clinical space equipment lists with required and appropriate clinical equipment
- Apply continuous improvement to process and development of material flow to deliver optimum level scheduling and planning.
- Provide all inputs for the development of draft project cost estimates for minor work, repair, and maintenance. Inputs will include interviews of base/contractor personnel, pictures, and drawings.
- Monitors emerging technologies; reports on healthcare related technology trends; assess new healthcare related technologies; disseminates healthcare related technology information as appropriate.
- Identifies and tracks inventory of existing equipment in areas planned to be relocated or decommissioned.
- Enters all equipment information into VA database when projects are completed and all equipment is installed.
- Helps develop processes, standards and documentation for equipment procurement.
- Shall maintain the digital resource library that includes drawings, plans, specification procurement documents, project correspondence, and project binders relating to major project equipment planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preferred education of bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Minimum 2+ years of work experience in Medical Planning Design.
- Project Management and Interior Design knowledge is beneficial, but not required.
- Experienced with the integration of medical equipment and the associated infrastructure technology, including the exchange of information between disparate systems such as audiovisual, security, and acoustics, and information technology infrastructure and information technology systems.
- Maintains functional knowledge of relevant safety codes and standards of regulatory bodies including The Joint Commission (TJC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
- Must possess computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (email), Adobe Acrobat DC. Experience with Microsoft Teams is beneficial, but not required.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Project.
- Must safeguard confidential information (both printed and electronic); Must comply with VA privacy act laws, federal regulations, VA statutes and police, and VHA policy.
- Must have a clean record and be able to successfully pass a drug test and thorough background check that spans beyond 7 years for possible access onto military installations.
