Position Description
Starting Salary Range: $75,000 - $110,000 - depending on experience

General Position Summary:
Design and configure controls systems. Provide basic level software from pre-engineered software designs and more complex software designs. Prepare control drawings, valve and damper schedules and submittal packages. Prepare system start-up packages.
Essential Job Functions:
1. CAD Design and configure control systems as defined by project specifications
2. Select and install control products, components, applications, and systems
3. Create reusable, field-tested standards/ review and revise systems for submission to the standards library/ coordinate with estimators and management to maintain the standard library’s integrity
4. Assist/coordinate RFI’s with the Project Manager
5. Prepare/ review submittals
6. Collaborate with other Engineers and Controls Specialist to define software needs and develop testing and commissioning plans
7. Provide technical coordination on projects
8. Lead engineering teams on large, complex building control projects
9. Provide start-up and commissioning support
10. Provide engineering support including specification review and creation of points list, contract controls diagrams, and sequence of operations
11. Prepare shop and installation drawings
12. Prepare bill of materials
13. Collaborate with the COM, Project Manager, Engineers, and support staff
14. Coordinate with Project Manager on special requirements addressed during the submittal process including TCP sizes, layouts/locations, special mounting requirements, home runs, and other installation needs.
15. Provide technical assessment/ review of project plans/ scope
16. Interpret project technical requirements and system applicability, software and user interface
17. Adhere to technical standards, procedures, and policies of the company and provide recommendations for revisions as standards evolve and system needs change
18. Provide input on standardization of product selections, new applications, drawing and documentation standards to assure quality, productivity and performance
19. Respond to technical information requests
20. Develop project documentation, manuals, test and commissioning plans, and customer training materials
21. Regular attendance and promptness are considered part of each employee's essential job functions.
Secondary Job Functions:
1. Provide schedule and completion time input to PM for forecasting
2. Maintain a tracking information database to manage workload
Position RequirementsSkills Required to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
1. Strong workingknowledge of the systems commonly monitored and controlled by a building DDC/EMS. Systems may include Tridium/Niagara Ax/N4, Distech, Lonworks Controllers, BACNet Controllers.
2. Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
Supervisory Responsibility: May serve as engineering lead on certain projects
Education/ Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Essential Duties of the Job:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with minimum of 5 years of experience or an associate in related field with ten years of relevant work experience.
2. Current, up-to-date knowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems technology, control DDC instrumentation technology, and industry standards
Licensing or Other Special Certifications Required:
1. Maintain a valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record.
